Welcoming New MumsAid Counselling Coordinator Emma Bailey To The Role

Earlier this year MumsAid was delighted to introduce the role of Counselling Coordinator to the team. The strategic vision for this role is to ensure that incoming clients are properly assessed and matched with the most suitable available counsellor for their needs.

Fortunately, the ideal candidate for the role was already known to the organisation. Emma Bailey has been involved with MumsAid in some capacity since 2020. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, she was quick to settle into this new position.

Emma, initially from France, came to the UK in 1999 to study in Cardiff. She later moved to London for a position in Financial Services, her initial career. Whilst enjoying her work, Emma felt that she lacked passion for the job, wanting to feel more excited and driven. Inspired by reading a novel about a therapist, a memory of a childhood friend with fascinating parents who were therapists resurfaced. Emma’s historic dream of working in psychotherapy was reignited.

Living in South East London, Emma was local to MumsAid, an organisation she felt a connection with due to her own experiences of post-natal issues. She initially joined the team in a voluntary role, supporting with administration. Once qualified with her MA in Integrative Psychotherapy she began counselling for the organisation in 2021. She later gained her PG Cert in Integrative Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis and with her UKCP and BACP registration, brings a wealth of qualification and experience to the MumsAid team.

Welcoming Emma into her new role, MumsAid CEO and Founder Dr Miriam Donaghy said “We are excited to have more resource dedicated to the personalisation of our services. This has always been at the core of what we do and the Counselling Coordinator role will only continue to increase and improve our efficacy. We can’t think of a better person for this role than Emma, who feels very much like a core part of our team after 4 years with us.”

MumsAid currently offers free counselling services to new mums in the Greenwich area and private, online, specialist counselling sessions to mums nationally.
