MumsAid – Overall winner GSK Impact Awards UK 2021!!

Following a rigorous selection and assessment process, MumsAid was chosen from more than 350 charities across the UK as overall winner of the 2021 GSK IMPACT Awards. The prize was awarded at a ceremony held at The King’s Fund in central London on Tuesday 14 September.

The GSK IMPACT Awards recognise the outstanding work of small and medium sized charities working to improve health and wellbeing in communities across the UK. As overall winners, MumsAid will receive £40,000 in unrestricted funding as well as expert support and leadership development provided by leading health and care charity The King’s Fund.

The judges were particularly impressed with the impact MumsAid has with its limited resources. Commenting on the award, Miriam Donaghy, Founder and CEO of MumsAid, said:

“We are totally thrilled and humbled to be chosen as the overall winner from such a group of amazing charities. We are hoping this award will raise the profile of perinatal mental health and help us to support even more pregnant women and mothers across south east London.”

Lisa Weaks, Assistant Director at The King’s Fund, said:

“We are delighted to announce that MumsAid is the overall winner of this year’s awards. The charity’s support for pregnant women and new mums in Greenwich and south east London has never been more important than during the past year, when many young families have found themselves cut off from their local communities and usual support. Throughout the pandemic, MumsAid has provided invaluable mental health support to new and expectant mothers and their partners, and worked hard to ensure it offers highly accessible and flexible services and reaches everyone who needs them.”

Katie Pinnock, Director of UK Charitable Partnerships at GSK, said:

“We were so impressed with MumsAid’s incredible Maternal Mental Health Support programmes, and we are thrilled they are the 2021 GSK IMPACT Awards Overall Winner. This relatively small organisation is achieving so much and supporting so many and is still able to demonstrate impressive outcomes for both mother and baby. In this current crisis, it is more important than ever to recognise excellent health and wellbeing charities providing services in such a nurturing and compassionate way.”

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of MumsAid!
